TCC Signs LR2 Newbuildings at Waigaoqiao

On April 25 2023, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and China Shipbuilding Industry Trading Co., Ltd. successfully signed a construction contract for two 114,000-ton Aframax product oil tankers with TCC Group. The vessels will be delivered in 2025 and are based on a design that is independently developed by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. (SWS).

Twenty-four years ago, TCC took the lead in cooperating with SWS to design the first Capesize vessels built in China. This renewed cooperation is a direct result of the long history and mutual trust between the two parties. As this is also the first newbuilding contract signed by Mr. Edward Koo representing the 4th generation of TCC Group, it embodies the multi-generational relationship between the two companies.
