Delivery of newbuilding Capesize (Newcastlemax) Bulk Carrier “CSK Zephyr”

TCC Group took delivery of “CSK Zephyr”, a 207,800 DWT newbuilt Capesize (Newcastlemax) bulk carrier, from Namura Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (“Namura”) on 22nd November 2018. The vessel was christened by Miss Emily Koo, a member of the Board of Directors of TCC Group. Representatives from the ship owner, shipyard, charterers and sub-charterers (i.e. Nippon Yusen Kaisha (“NYK”) and BHP), financiers, insurers and guests witnessed this momentous occasion.

“CSK Zephyr” symbolizes the long term relationship among NYK, Namura and TCC Group. In 1970, the delivery of a Lake Type bulk carrier “Silver Zephyr” marked the first ever piece of newbuilding business done between the Koo Family and Namura. Upon delivery, the “Silver Zephyr” was immediately delivered on a long term timecharter to NYK.

“CSK Zephyr” now commences her first service to NYK under a long term charter concluded in 2015. The long and productive friendship among the 3 truly Old Friends stays unchanging.
